| All right let me start off by saying I'm in the restaurant business. I work 6 days a week and have been working 6 days a week for over a year now. I brought up the point to my boss that the minimum wage increases are changing fast in order to bring everybody up to 7.50 an hour and tried to 'casually' ask if he planned on scaling our pay to match what we are making now in regards to minimun wage currently and he told me no that we would be making the same amount. Now I've been with this company for over 2 1/2 years now. He basically told me that when minimum wage hits that high, prices will go up and the place will shut down because people won't pay the prices the company will ask. Now my opinion is this, if a boss truly cared about his employees and still knew this, I would think he would pay us what we're worth while he can but he has basically said no to that. Should I start hunting for a new job now or wait? |
