I recently watched "Bowling for Columbine". Michael Moore posed several theories as to who was at fault for deaths resulting from gun violence.
1. The N.R.A. for advocating our right as Americans to possess firearms.
2. Retail stores making ammunition readily available.
3. The Media for being saturated with stories pertaining to violent crime.
4. T.V. and Movie producers and video game manufacturers for glamorizing violence.
Throughout the movie, the issue concerning how parents raise their children was never addressed. Do you believe that it is due to poor parenting that children commit these violent acts at such early ages, or are our children doomed because the influence of media and other organizations, as well as our attitudes towards violence are bound to triumph over the ethics and morals that parents try to instill in their children. |
