A Restless Soul
Upon one evening, when all was calm
There was, alone, a restless soul,
Someone who knew what mattered not,
To fulfill an empty hole.
She graced the lives of many friends,
Yet wondered, what at best,
Could give someone of love and life,
Such a day of much unrest.
In deep thought she pondered most,
As to what the day should entail,
Never knowing one moment to the next,
What the circumstances would unveil.
Minute by minute the day played out,
As it all began to unfold,
Knowing forever without a doubt,
Which morals we should uphold.
Seeing someone beside themselves,
With only a few moments to respond,
What do you say to someone whose lost,
To get them to want to move on?
Thinking back to all the times,
When a kind word went so far,
Just a few words to lift us up,
And remember who we are.
With that, she lightly stepped up,
To what it was she had to do,
Telling this soul not to give up,
For someone will always love you!
Remember those who have loved you,
And what they have gone without,
So that you may live each single day,
Having no regrets or doubt.
Isn't that what life is supposed to be,
People loving others without any refrain,
Loving everything about this life,
Unrestricted and unrestrained?
In that brief moment of time,
The soul settled into a routine,
Of making light of this situation,
And returning to something serene.
Giving a thought of what was to come,
And all that could be had,
Knowing that there are other days,
In which it could be sad.
Just like that it was over,
A life saved and just as well,
For if she had done nothing,
Evil would have prevailed.
Looking back on that day,
She wondered what might have been,
If she would have given up,
And let the evil enter in.
In this note I ask of you,
To always be patient and kind,
To always look within the soul,
And see what you can find.
For if someone looks hard enough,
I'm sure that they would see,
The one lone soul I speak of today,
Well, that soul was me!
Are we each not worth enough,
To take a moment of time,
To always see the good in things,
No matter how unrefined?
