I look to my heart
To see the place
Marked there from birth
I look to the sky
To see the place of peace
And then to the ground . . .
Father forgive me
I lost my tears long ago
My hand I reach out
From mine bed
To the one I love
The one I would give
My heart and soul for
Just to see a smile upon her face
This ring I take
From the pages of a magazine
As if to ask
Will you be mine
But not a word do I utter
Not a face
Looks my way
Ashley . . .
Where do we go
How do we conquer this place
And see another day
I want you here
But vanity keeps you afar
Can love truly survive anything
Will ours stand the test of time
I look to my heart
To see the place
Marked there from birth
I look to the sky
To see the place of peace
And then to the ground . . .
I reach my hand out
From this bed of mine
And then I turn
To find the meaning for her tears
Ashley . . .
No
I look to my heart
To see the place
Marked there from birth
I look to the sky
And then back to my heart
Father . . .
Is this the number you pulled
I look upon her face and say
I love you Ashley
As I fades away
