I shall dedicate this poem to Jasmine. No more needs to be said.
"If only you could see what I see."
These eyes are both nothing and everything to me.
Showing me magnificent sights and unholy illusions.
To be able to see another person's eyes to their soul;
If only you could see what I see.
Infinite defined, its proximity determined;
I can grasp its integrity, its dimensions.
Seeing the front and back of each number,
If only you could see what I see.
Each atom, each quark, detailed as a painting;
Showing me its individual power and combination of strength.
And what beholds inside of it,
If only you could see what I see.
Each note, each beat, music in simplicity;
Combined together in a thousand chords of beauty.
Graced by a simple swing of an arm,
If only you could see what I see.
The sudden silence as a second of determination appears;
Where your true reflection is shown in the water.
Jumping gently into the pool to grasp its touch,
If only you could see what I see.
A billion stars all within your grasp;
Each giving its own unique glow.
Slowly burning its love out,
If only you could see what I see.
A pure cold blackness, pierced only by screams;
Of anger and torment and greed.
With the hand you're reaching for slipping away,
If only you could see what I see.
A family in a photograph, fading one by one;
Until the last person remains.
Leaving him alone for eternity,
If only you could see what I see.
A soul trapped forever, hidden behind the page;
Unwritten in the storybooks, lost without a name.
And yet to see his gentle greatness flow without a word,
If only you could see what I see.
A happy ending, a joyous dream;
Without meaning but with a glorious finish.
To wake up knowing the next adventure begins,
If only you could see what I see.
