Angelica and her seizures

Well, it's been over a year since she had a seizure and I thought we were 'free and clear'. We only had 10 more months to go with her not having a seizure and they were going to take her off the meds. Unfortunately, she had another set yesterday. They were very, very different from her seizures in the past so I'm very concerned obviously. I wanted to change Neurologists but have to go see the one we don't like today. Maybe now she'll listen to me Ha! She stayed awake during both seizures this time, and her warning was that her left foot hurt and/or felt very, very heavy. She was on a campout with the Girl Scouts so one of her friends happened to see it and was able to tell me about it. She had a second, much smaller one in the ER which was witnessed by the nurses tending to her. Scary stuff I tell you! From what Angelica, Eryn and Susan (her troop leader and b/f Charlotte's mom) told me, this is what happened. I have to put it down so I don't forget. You know me! Friday and Saturday nights she felt like she was dreaming while she was still awake. Sunday morning, her left foot had been jerking before she got out of bed. When she did get up, she had a hard time walking at first. While in the bathroom with Eryn, her foot started seizing first, it started going back and forth by itself. While she and Eryn were out of the stalls and still in the bathroom, her foot was still doing its thing and Eryn had looked away for a moment and felt Angelica kick her. When she turned around to look, Angelica was on the floor shaking. She was able to stay alert and continue to talk during the entire 3 to 4 minute episode. When her troop leader got to her, she attempted to have Angelica roll over onto her back, as when she fell she landed on her face, and Angelica was unable to roll over. Her left side seemed to be temporarily paralyzed. Once she was able to roll over, she was still having foot pain and problems. When they attempted to walk her out of the restroom, she was unable to walk as her left leg and foot were not working properly. The smaller seizure in the ER which was witnessed by Holly and Lisa, the nurses tending to her, only lasted about 15 seconds. I was brought into the room very shortly there after and her leg and foot felt very heavy for approximately 30 minutes afterwards. Angelica stated she had the same sensation/problem after her first seizure. I have to call and make an appointment with the neurologist today, so I'll post an update later. The thing that shocked me the most was something the ER doctor said, I only remember his first name was John, go figure! He asked if she was epileptic. I said no, her neurologist hasn't said that. She's only said she has spells. He then explained that typically, if a person has 2 or more seizures and they are unable to diagnose the reason, they are epileptic. I never knew nor thought about that. Good to know though, and definitely something I'll bring up at our appointment today.
