Charles Beeler

I found this on google. Along with so many riders that are putting on a special ride in the honor of Charlie! I am so choked up. It is so amazing how many people are coming to support him because of who he was and what he fought for.... Freedom! Thank you to everyone that has been supporting me this past week. It has been difficult and I am working through it. Tomorrow is the service and then it will be time to try and move forward with a sence of peace and positive thoughts and reflection. ~read on~ This past Sunday evening (Nov. 12, 2006) a regular Army soldier assigned to Ft. McCoy and living in Sparta took his own life. He returned from a tour in Iraq just a few months ago. He leaves behind a wife of many years and 3 children, ages 12, 13, and 15. He was a Harley rider and may have recently joined the PGR. Since he was not "KIA" his demise and name will not show up on the DOD news releases. The Army's public affairs office will be issuing an obituary and news release either today or tomorrow (11-15-06). His family is staying with us while their home is being cleaned up and sanitized. They're requesting a PGR presence. SFC Charles Beeler, age 39, passed away on Sunday November 12th, 2006 at approximately 11:00 p.m. Services as follows: Lantham-Smith Funeral Home, 106 W. Franklin St, Sparta, WI. Visitation on Friday, November 17th, 2006, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Services will follow at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with burial immediately after the service at Woodlawn Cemetery. This cemetery is a mere few blocks north of downtown Sparta on Water Street. For all practical purposes, the funeral home is also on Water Street on the north end of the business district. Water Street is the 2nd stop & go light (when traveling Hwy 16 west to east) through Sparta. The Army Casualty Assistance Officer is XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Charlie and I were very close friends, as were many local bikers. A number of them intend to ride in the funeral procession and are more than willing to join with PGR riders. Most won't have their own flags but will gladly stand a flag line - a few extra flags would be welcome. The last time I checked, Friday's weather is forecast to be a high of 42 but otherwise tolerable - some clouds maybe but no snow or rain. I can be reached at either XXX-XXX-XXXX(home) or XXX-XXXX (La Crosse area cell phone). Respectfully, Rich Fink, SCPO (USN-retired) Sparta, WI" Rich has taken on the task of Temporay Ride Captain. Specific mission info to follow. I know he did not die on the battlefield, but it seems he had a battle that he felt he could not win. Let us stand for the family. Henry Lange WI SC
