I'd sigh, but I'm too tired to do so. Being that I'm so tired, you may be wondering why I'm online blogging when I could be sleeping. Well, I'm wondering that, too. It's probably due to the fact that I got a little carried away with cleaning and whatnot when I came home this morning. My neighbor's trash just loves, loves, loves my yard. I'm a heartless wench because I just won't let their trash have its wicked way with my yard. I bag it up every Tuesday and Friday. My neighbors are completely in favor of the relationship, I suppose, as they refuse to pick up their trash.
After I did that, I decided to clean out my refridgerator. Then I decided to do some laundry. Now, it's that laundry that I'm waiting on. Ugh. Baggage.
Anyway, in my last blog, I mentioned that Bryan called. My, how news travels. I get to work last night and I discover that Bryan and I are lovers. Man, did I get an earful? Yes, and then some. It doesn't make sense that someone is so concerned with my every move, even going so far as to be concerned with my personal life. You know, that part of my life which doesn't pertain to work; the part which doesn't merit the concern of whomever is not directly involved in it? Yeah, that's it. Apparently, it bothers someone that he called me and we have plans to hang out at the super romantic bowling alley. I don't know. Maybe they're convinced that I'm going to slam his man's body down and do wicked bad things for all the bowlers to see. It'd certainly give new meaning to the term strike. I really just don't know what they think.
So, here's a bit of what I had to listen to last night:
"But you have a boyfriend. Why would you want a friend who is a boy?"
First off, I can date someone while maintaining friendships regardless of gender. Second, boys are less hassle, so long as they're okay with the role of gal pal.
"That Bryan! He isn't all he's cracked up to be."
Third, I don't expect anything of Bryan other than friendship, which he provides, so he is all that he's cracked up to be.
"You better be careful! I heard he's a wild one."
Fourth, I am careful. Simply consider the fact that I'm twenty-three years old and I'm a virgin, I've never done drugs and I've never been so guttered that I've paid homage to the porcelain god and there you have it; I'm not easily lead about.
"I hear that boy drinks!"
Fifth, he doesn't drink, but if he did, I'd get over it. It doesn't mean I have to drink with him. Besides that, I consider it to be mildly hypocritical coming from someone who gets trashed weekly.
"You wouldn't want anyone to think anything inappropriate was going on, would you?"
No, I don't, but I realize that it doesn't seem to matter, as even my personal life is questioned without justification. A friendship with a member of the opposite sex does not an inappropriate relationship make, but it's cool. I understand that someone's life is so lacking that they feel the need to delve into my own.
"So, you're cheating on your boyfriend? Figures."
So, you're stupid. Figures.
I could continue, but it annoys me thinking of all the little remarks. Seriously. I cannot begin to express the level of my annoyance.
I'm getting tired of being all nice about it. If it continues, I will very bluntly explain to those involved that I will no longer tolerate this petty, stupid bit of fluff. I do so dislike displaying the transition from tongue to sword, but they're asking for it. My personal life is just that-personal and it's about time I reminded 'em of that little fact.
