Well, yesterday was ... eventful ... and not in a good way. Nothing tragic, thankfully, just a couple of major annoyances. First, the bowler
(hat) that I ordered last week and had been eagerly awaiting was delivered and it ended up being too big
(see the latest pic in my default folder). Turns out that my head is between 1x and 2x
(that's not a head it's a planetoid) and I erred on the wrong side. I sent it back for an exchange today and should have the new one in about a month
(*drums fingers anxiously*). Then, I reached into my backpack to get my digital camera and it wasn't there. I figured that it may have fallen out in my car the night before and went to look only to find it under the car, lined up with the driver's side tire and looking very dirty
(not a good sign). You see, as I was putting said backpack in the car as I was going out on the night in question I heard something fall out. I looked down, saw my pack of cigarettes sitting on the driveway and figured that was it
(the camera was in a black case). Then, as I was pulling out it felt kind of like I'd run over something, but I just thought that maybe I'd hit the end of the driveway at a weird angle
(nope, that was my camera). Come to think of it, I probably ran it over a second time when I got home. The amazing part was that it was still in one piece and the only cosmetic evidence of damage was a dent in the front. Unfortunately, when I turned it on I found that the LCD didn't work and the few pics that I tried to take all turned out black. This is where things really got ... dramatic
(I hate drama). Turns out that that model was discontinued and I couldn't find another one with a flip out LCD
(like this) and this is a feature that I use a lot
(makes it a lot easier to take pics and video of oneself, which I obviously like to do). Well, after several hours of searching and muttering all manner of obscenities I found another camera with that kind of LCD
( a Canon PowerShot A630) and ordered it. It's actually a bit better than the one I had and wasn't that much more expensive. It should be here next week ... now if only I could get my hat that quickly.
