I go to a far away land.
Away from family I know I will be.
But, there is another family I will be with.
My brother's and sister's though not related.
But, only by our calling.
To serve a great nation is our honor.
To keep her safe is so sweet.
Though I may not make it home alive.
There I gave my heart and soul.
But, if I make it home.
Will I be called a hero?
Even if some don't think I am a hero.
I know other's will.
I did my duty I was called upon to do.
What more can I be asked to do than what I have done?
Let me go back to my life that I had before I left for the far off place.
But, if I am needed again I will be there... JLM
