If I have a certain mentality regarding whatever topic you're presenting, chances are that, while I'll generally respect your perspective, whatever you have to say won't make me all of a sudden change my mind about how I currently see things.
Taking the subject further tends to just piss me off. Not even because you're pushing the matter, but because I'm still stuck in the conversation trying to somehow make you understand and field the rebuttals made to each of my replies. I could just walk away. I could be a total bitch. I just don't want to be.
There are reasons for why I feel about things the way that I do, and even though I may not explain them to you - I don't owe you that - there are reasons just the same. I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings in the process. If I don't side with you 100% and toes were stepped on when I wanted to look from a different window, I apologize. Agree to disagree. Move on.
I may be a realist, but I'm still me. You're still you.
While I'm respecting you, how about you do me a favor and show me the same courtesy?
