Yesterday I went to Pittsburgh to take part in the shooting of "The Dark Knight Rises." It's about a 3 and a half hour drive from Buffalo, and shooting started at 7 am. So, I left here about 3AM and made the drive. They had us park by the old, and I mean old, hockey stadium and bussed us over to Heniz Field.
I had to sign a non disclosure agreement, so I am not sure what I am really allowed to post, but I can tell you it was awesome, and a pain in the ass all at the same time. The weather was cloudy in the morning, and we did get some rain. Of course they had just moved us from a covered area to out in the open when it started raining, so that was nice. Then when the sun came out in all it's glory, I was up in the nosebleeds getting the full blast of the sun. We did so many takes of everything, I hope that it turns out well. I was sitting in three different places for the filming, and I don't know for sure I am on Camera. They did put us in an area they said was showing up to fill in blank spots, so we'll see.
We were not permitted to take pictures of the filming. (I want you to take a close look at that statement, if you know me, then you should know what happened) But I posted some pics I took on the bus ride over. We were there all day, and I didnt get on the bus back to my car until 7pm, and I hit the road. I did have to make a stop at Primanti's since I had heard so much about them, and it was well worth it. Also figured since I was in PA where the smokes are about 4 bucks a pack cheaper I'd pick up a couple.
What I could tell of Pittsburgh is that it seemed like a cool city, I am going to have to get there again someday when I have a bit more freedom to check it out.
