I Never Minded Change
When you whispered I love you,
It was like a snow on Christmas,
The moonlight on the ocean,
Our first kiss.
Every kiss that you gave me,
Was like heat on the desert,
The mist from morning showers.
A subtle and shy look in my direction.
Every glance at me
Was like a twinkling of stars,
A spark of desire,
Safe in your clutches.
Every moment within your arms
Was like the growl of a tiger,
A rushing and primal urge.
Yet an engaging mix of emotions.
But you're gone now,
That is better than these feelings combined.
I could have never been what you wanted,
I never minded change,
Just not in the way you wanted.
