Lookin' back, on the track, for a little green bag Gotta find, just the kind, or I'm losin' my mind Out of sight, in the night, out of sight in the day Lookin' back, on the track, gonna do it my way
Here's my problem. George Baker seemed very keen about rhyming intensely during this song, even matching the word structures for the most part. Little Green "Bag" doesn't fit. It also doesn't make any sense in the song. The other part of the problem is that not only does it definitely sound like he's saying "a little greenback" in the song, it would also fit the word structure pattern, and also make PERFECT sense in the song. Now he's just looking for some money. Listen to it yourself. Although, no matter where you google this or see it anywhere, they all swear to you that he's saying Bag. Am I nuts? |
