A harsh breeze whistles in my doorway. I gotta fix that damn window...now to start the daily ritual. Coffee...check. Start the shower...check. Get todays clothes out...check. Who would have known that such a normal day could bring something so extraordinary. As I emerge from my solitary, I cover up. It's starting to get a little cold. The crisp, caffeinated winds mirrors my newfound disposition. Waiting for a route to the daily destination, wasn't as bad as it usually is. A free seat....don't mind if I do. We approach the next stop, and I see an elderly couple running to catch the bus. I hit the button, to give them a fighting chance...oddly enough the bus driver waited. Hhmmm, human beings exist after all. This is where I saw true love at its finest. In a grimy, cold, public bus. Not the penthouse at the Ritz, or a fancy restaurant in Paris. I could still see the love in their eyes for each other, and a simple action defined the moment. The elderly man had a knot in his hoodie. After struggling with it for a few minutes, I could see that he was about to give up. Without a word, the elderly woman reached over and started to take the knot out. She made quick work of the knot, and retreated back into his arms. I remember when my love just begun, and I had the same look in my eye as the guy looked at his wife. After all those years, I can't imagine how it feels to have someone that you can trust to always be there. While being there for them.
