Merry-Go-Round
Life is like a merry-go-round
Fun and enticing and interesting sound
It goes in circles in a similar way
Up and down through-out the day
Out at the crowd you look for friends
They pass quickly by before the ride ends
Some are there when the ride is through
The ones that aren’t you thought you knew
Painted horses on poles and small children with screams
Spinning lights and mirrors it’s not what it seems
The music is happy, inviting and free
It’s part of the draw that people will see
Life is the same an illusion at best
Believe what you want and forget the rest
That is the mistake most people make
They forget what’s right and what is at stake
Around we go not a care in the world
Forgetting our values and forsaking the Lord
When the ride stops where will you be
Out in the cold or standing next to me
