Today is mother's day and all over, people are taking their moms out for a lunch to say, "hey, thanks for having sex with some guy and not being smart enough to take the pill or use a condom". You see, mother's day is yet just another holiday invented by retailers to part dumb people from their money. And what is their biggest tool, other than the millions of sheep that follow any holiday put on a calendar? Easy, they use the power of guilt. Religions have known this special power for eons, but now retailers have finally learned they too can profit from people feeling guilty. Buy your mom some flowers.....if you love her. Take your mom to dinner....if you love her. If you were a good son or daughter, you would think of her on this day - her special day. And best of all, when some dumbshit asks if you called your mom on mother's day and you say, "no", the retailers have so brainwashed them that they give you a ration of crap to guilt you into doing something for your mom. And what says, "I love you" more than consumerism?! So what about all the abusive mothers out there. You know, the ones who neglect and beat and abuse their children in other ways? I mean, last I checked, the group foster homes aren't getting any emptier. What about those asshole mothers? So, before you ask someone if they called their mom on mother's day just so you can feel like a good person because you called yours, think first. Maybe you don't know them as good as you think. Maybe they are one of the hundreds of thousands of kids that got abused by their mothers. Maybe you should just butt out and realize you are just a sheep and about to make an asshole out of yourself. You see, in many, many households, mother is just shorthand for motherfucker.
