My Baby
by Natalie Limardo
I woke up one day and knew it was here.
The day I have waitied for.
The sun set just right and the air smelled so new.
Something was just so right that it just had to be.
I finally found out and smiled so big.
Because it is my baby.
My baby is coming and it will be so loved.
For I am its mother.
I will hold it close,
love it tender,
smooth away its tears,
and whisper away bad dreams.
Before all else this baby will come first.
For I will put my happiness aside.
Noone will mistreat,
noone will disappoint or dishonor my baby.
I am the only mother this baby will have.
So I must treasure him,
and show him that I will never stop loving him.
He is my only treasure right now.
He makes me smile like no other.
It’s my boy, my baby boy.
I will make him a strong and loving man.
It is my job to show him how to love right.
God don’t let me mess up.
I am the one he sees and looks up to.
Please let him see that I am good,
loving,
and caring.
Sometimes those are also my faults.
I hope he will know that he is my little piece of happiness.
He is my little boy.
