Well I was able to find out what will happen exactly in the surgery, lumbar laminectomy, discectomy and fusion with interbody cages and pedicle screws. They will do open surgery, taking away the lamina of the L5 bone in order to get to the disc which will be removed, install synthetic polymer cages, either BMP(bone growth stimulating material, which will include the ground up lamina from vertebrae(L5) or synthetic bone (calcium hydroxyapetite or allograft[fake bone] or Cadaver bone[dead person]) the last part it is pedicle (IDK) screws and rods that will also extend up to L4 and maybe L3. I will be in hospital for 3-7days, and they expect me to be able to function by 6 weeks and get back to work in 3 months. I have decided to go ahead(i said that before i'm OCD leave me alone) and because this style of surgery hasa high success rate because of the rods and screws. It is the quickest way to get back to work to support my family. If I went for school then it could be up to 3 years before I got to work. Wish me luck.
