Eyes as sparkle as the stars
in the night sky
ear as delicate as the wind
blowing in your hair
heart as pure as gold
should never hear
mommy and daddy fighting
cussing and yelling
the words
I hate you
should not be upon your ears
your eyes so sensitive to light
should never see hitting
your heart so loving
not want to choose sides
should you have your dough
remember even parents make
mistakes
so never forget
that we are doing
our best
thought our mistakes
will make you stronger
and never let the sparkle die
or the ears become undelicate
for you might just
miss the soft whisper
and never let your heart
grow cold.
