Okay...it's been an interesting day.
I did something a bit different today just for the helluvit. I posted a personal ad on Craigslist. lol... Funny thing is that one guy that I had dated in the past has responded. Too funny. Trying to figure out the perfect way to respond back to him... lol.... Should I say, "Bet I can spook you!", like the gal said to Tom Cruise in Cocktails & Dreams???? lol....
At work we started to get some strange calls and around 5pm it started to be all the drunks.
One of the funniest was a gal who called our hotline (supposed to be about domestic violence)who is missing her fiance. He hasn't showed up in 4-5 days; she even had to entertain his family at his home on Christmas Day. Okay, so it could be a very serious matter if he is indeed missing; however, we are a DV hotline and I mentioned ever so gentley to her that "I would love to help you but we aren't a Missing Fiance Hotline". Fortunately, it sounded funny to us both at the same time and we both started laughing. At least, she was able to laugh and she thanked me for lightening up her day.
Thank goodness I didn't have to work past 7:15 tonight. They are certainly going to have an interesting night tonight, to say the least!!
I got over to my daughter's home to babysit my granddaughter and everything was fine until they called on the different phones (my cell phone, their phone on the kitchen pass through, etc.) and the granddaughter began screaming each time that I would try removing the bottle from her. Eventually, after talking to them, poor baby was getting really upset and all of the sudden she became a fountain of spit -- similar to something seen only on the exorcist. Then she had another bout of it while I took her in her room to change her. That was it. She had it all over her hair and mine, her outfit and my sweater, etc. Taking her to the bathroom, I filled her little tub and put her in the tub outfit, diaper and all.
Took the diaper and outfit off of her while in the tub and washed her off good. Took her naked butt to the changing table and rubbed her down with some great smelling lotion and proceeded to put a brand new diaper on her and change her outfit.
She sat on my lap watching CSI for about 45 mins very happily and then started leaning over falling asleep. She soon was taken into her room and put to bed!
Whew! What a great New Year's Eve I am having. Highlights are though receiving a phone call from one of my bestest of friends.
Still an hour to go here though for the time to change to 2008. Anything can happen. I am not expecting anything spectcular, but a bit of peace in the home tonight while her Mom and Dad are out partying for the New Year.
Perhaps, I'll line up my bills to pay on the 1st...Perhaps, I'll just catch up on my emails... Maybe I'll just sleep. lol.....
I am hoping that everyone out on FUland is having a phenomenal New Year's Eve tonight and an even more phenomenal New Year's Day as midnight continues moving across our land. May the New Year in 2008 bring prosperity and happiness for one and all, as well as peace throughout the world.
