Red Sox 8, Devil Rays 7
Thanks to Fenway West, who informed me that I could listen to the game on the local AM radio station since my internet is down, I got to enjoy one of the GREATEST come backs in baseball history.
So we were down 7-0 in the sixth and already Joe Morgan was exclaiming that the Devil Rays were about to wheel out the champagne and that the Sox season was done. But Joe Morgan REALLY PISSED ME OFF when he stated that although the Sox had come back from behind in 2004 and 2007 that this 2008 team was not as good as the 2007 team.
What????
The Sox won a freakin' 95 games this year, that's one less than 2007. Why aren't we as good? Luckily, Joe Morgan made those idiotic remarks before the Sox rallied to score 8 runs in three innings to once again make Morgan look like the fool that he is.
Kiss my grits Joe Morgan.
I admit that I had my doubts about this one. With Papi slumping and Beckett injured or mentally unavailable I wasn't sure we could pull off a win last night. On Wednesday night I was climbing at the gym wearing a Red Sox shirt when I met an angel.
"Do you think the Sox are going to do it this year?" she asked.
"I don't know, but I hope so." I replied.
She smiled and said. "I know they will".
He remarked that she was from Brookline and she looked young enough not to have experienced '75 or '86 BUT SHE WAS RIGHT.
I appreciate the postive attitude. Thank God for young people.
Now we just need Beckett to hang in there....
