Ok kids, time to critique me. Open & raw and, please, DON'T be gentle. I want the truth.
I've been writing on & off for over 20 years and was published for the first time in an anthology when I was 17 y/o. Life went on and I found myself not writing much, but now, I'm inspired.
Since my physical & psychological delve into the world of D/s, my ensuing research, friendships and finding my place within that world, I have begun writing erotica. ALOT of it! :P All of it inspired by people in my life to some extent but more of an amalgam of various people and situations, real & fictional.
One day, I bit my lip and sat down in front of hubby with some of my work upon the request of a friend. As I began to read, he would easily put together that some of it was NOT about him AT ALL. He sat back in his chair with his arms crossed over the top of his head and listened until I was done. I held my breath and waited for his response. He sat up in his chair, massaged his forehead a bit, turned, looked me dead in the eyes and said, "You REALLY need to find a publisher for that. That's really fucking good and it shouldn't just be hanging around in a notebook here."
I've done some research and found a few prospective companies. I'll have to expand on the stories I have to meet min. word requirements but that's not a problem.
My works from the last year are in my "XXXplicit Erotica" blog. Please check them out, comment your opinion and let me know whether I should pursue this or not. I have to admit, I'm giddy at the notion. |
