All through my life, I've often wondered
what kind of woman would be a mother.
A woman of patience, love and grace
with a voice like silk, and as pretty as lace.
A woman who gives of herself in such a way
as to bring a smile to my face everyday.
When I am down, she is always there
to give me advice, or just to say she cares.
A woman who supports me in all that I do
even if it's a mistake that she's made too.
As I grow older and open my eyes,
I see my mother as an angel in disguise.
She's always been there to guide me along
and now I understand the words of her song.
My love for her is as deep as the ocean is wide.
I hope she sees the depth of her son's pride.
