[That boy]

I dunno how many of you know the song I'm referencing.
But it has a John, a Paul, and a Ringo in it.
And a uchalaylee.... euchalayle, euchalale how the FUCK do you spell that word?

Anyhow

Update.
Update.

As you know- the Kampfer is posed. Constructed
Awesome.

I've still got a chest cold.
And I managed to buy 4 gifts for four people for about forty bucks.

Each.

Not 10 10 10 and 10.

Marry assmunch.

I beat Bioshock, and its one of those pesky two ending games, and
Bioshock was pretty much my ace in the hole
my
"break in case of emergency" game.
That book you know you want to read-
but you don't want to read it right now.

I anihilated it too.

System Shock 2 even on the easiest setting
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
harder.

And its
basically Doom 3.
That... progressive-dungeon FPS where you unlock upgrades and solve puzzles and perform tasks.

It's kinda the track all single player mode FPS' are on these days.
I'm
pretty okay with that. Its a great game. Just... not THE.
That... golden-crisp apple of FPS/RPG people have been trying for since the 90's.

but Bioshock got a sequel.
And another sequel.

And

like Xenogears with Xenosaga 1-12
the game that NO ONE IN THE SAGA KNOWS ABOUT
is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar superior.

System Shock 2 was true terror
You were HUNTED.
Nowhere was safe.
Resources were always scarce
and it had MORE RPG-dungeon elements and tooling.

I said it to my brother and I'll say it here.

Xenosaga and 90% of Square's products now are an animated (BAD) book.
System Shock was an FPS RPG Horror the likes of which HAS NOT BEEN REPLICATED.
Deus Ex- a true FPS RPG.
Borderlands was Diablo with a first person interface. (which is still a step forward)
Bioshock was Doom 3. (and doom 3 was awesome- but ffs- SEE THE POTENTIAL!!!)
All slashers are Prince of Persia.

Now.
The last game that I played
that did not
disappoint
at all

one of those "once in a decade games" as I called it.
Psychonauts.

It was zaney.
It was hilarious (I've never laughed so much in any game- it's like they wrote a comedy first and made a game around it)
Great voice acting.
And the SCOPE was surprisingly huge.

The assets and environments on this game were ... naive!
And it made it great.

I had this conversation for at least 2 hours and I'll try to sum it up here.

When they made this game they didn't say "oh- why do we need that function, that ability, that level, that mechanic- its too much work- we're only going to use it once"

They just said "we need X, because it is awesome" and they made it happen.

This is exactly what I want to accomplish with the "robot project" I want to develop with my brother.

Real- shattering armor fragments.
Joints freezing from stress
bullet ricochet
true accoustic variance in explosions and bullets depending on the environment (most of the times in games guns make the SAME sound unless you're shooting them into water)
Awe.

I don't want to hear "existing programming/hardware can't make it possible" I want to hear "yes- that is awesome".

When Halflife 2 came out nobody said "why the fuck do we need a realistic BOUNCING tin can? or a bed with semi-fluid properties leaning against a cupboard with thirty moveable objects"

they just fucking made it.

Havok.
It's an asset in almost EVERY game now.
You're welcome.

Innocence. Idealism. Naivety. Daring.

They're not always bad.

But... that's a dream for later.

------------------------------------------

That was my game rant for a bit there.
On to robots.
ROBOTS!!!

robots.

I'm kinda on hold. I dunno where all I've mentioned this, but right now priority is job.

Like
real job.
Like get out of Topeka job.

I have assembled kits that I could paint.
But I don't want to get too far into that, and elbow deep to where I want to prioritize anything other than
job.

That and getting halfway into a paint job and then moving to finish
it'd suck
a lot

At the moment I'm constructing a 1/100 Zeta+ C1
And ... it is the first Mastergrade Gundam I have made.
The rest were unrated, not as complicated, or not a gundam.

The C1 can transform into a jet with a MASSIVE gun.

So the framework and joints are relatively very complicated.

The fins have me tripped up too because I'd like to decal and top coat this kit, and to topcoat may mean immobilizing the head fins
and... fucking up the transformation.

Also- you have to contemplate the tranformation when planning the paint job.
Probably explains why its mostly one color by default.

Anyway- crippled a bit.
But 2 arms and most of the backpack are done.
Just gotta find a metric ruler to measure some cables on the calves and the rest should be fairly simple.

And-
I spent about 4 hours answering some twit's question about modifying a kit I don't even like.

But ... I know what it's like to be a newb. I still am one.
So I took the time instead of writing him off as a spamming tard.

*sigh*
I dunno.
I need to work.
And fuck.
And work.

Kinda losing my god damn mind.

... more than usual.
