but no one else can have me?
Why do you pull at my heart strings,
when you see the pain it brings?
Why must you say cruel words,
do you think otherwise you would not be heard?
Every time you curse me it leaves a mark,
like a thousand lashes of a whip across my heart.
Do you think by putting me down,
that you make me wanna keep you around?
Your words are sharp like a blade tip,
I do nothing to you, yet you still just trip.
Nothing do you grant me,
my friends are all gone, I can't see my family.
I can't have a computer, or a phone,
I can't even have keys to my own home.
So I am just a prisoner in my love for you,
and you are the guard and punisher too.
At least I know as I sit in my private hell,
I can help others get out because of the story I can tell.
