yeah a fun ride home for all LOL. Ok i could do without the wet bit but well we have to make sacrifices at some point.
Anyway, onto the technical stuff, i found out why my program wasn't working properly. I went looking at the irc networks homepage and found out something interesting. It seems that you can't send private messages until you register your nick. This was done to stop spam bots and other nasties trying to pretend to be other people. I have no problem with this, just wish i knew before i spent so long trying to find the problem LOL.
So I'll have to go testing again. I've also decided to get a new wireless router because there is no way i can connect when i enable any of the security options i.e wpa, and i don't fancy having an open connection to my network. So i'm going to switch to a new one that i know works because I set up a friends and it works. It just teaches me to go cheap LOL
