Ok so after talking to a friend the other day I figured I would go ahead and let everyone know what's been going on with me lately.
For the last month and a half or so I have been attending
Acoustic Edge in Spring/North Houston. Basically learning to install car stereos as well as custom box design, alarms and remote starts, and the basic principles behind it all. I've had alot of fun there and the guys I'm in class are really cool too. There are only 8 of us, 3 from Texas and the rest from Michigan, Colorado, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.
This month we're in the fabrication part of the school learning to work with fiberglass resin, routers, molding foam, vinyl and box carpet, acrylic, basic welding and other things along those lines. Next month will be interiors which I'm also looking forward to.
After the first week of class we were required to take the MECP(Mobile electronics certified professional) exam and my entire class passed with at least an 87 I in fact was tied in the third position with a 95.3! I hope to pick up the advanced book and become MECP Advanced certified before I leave, although I wouldn't get my certificate til next year as you have to wait between taking the basic, advanced and master certification tests.
I've currently uploaded about 50 photos of some of our projects and the school itself. I still need to get into the sound room and get a picture of their wall of sound(30 Rockford Fosgate subwoofers wired to run off of a single amp...yes it can be done and yes it sounds very nice). As well as some of the other rooms around the school. I'm loving my time here and look forward to getting out in the field and working. I miss talking to you all and hope everything is going good for all of ya'll.
