Where is the love?
In the midst of all craziness and chaos lies love.
Sitting there to be acknowledged not making a sound.
It creeps up from you deep within a place in your heart that hasn’t forgotten. All that reigns inside of you never retreats. Love is like a balm of cool fresh air as it caresses your
face on a hot August morning. It feels so good and
brings you back to reality. This reality called love isn’t
fake or disguised. It is real, just as you and I are.
What you thought you could hide you can’t. It always wants to survive and be known. Even a glimpse of it comes through
on your darkest days. It is ingrained in our being; you
can’t get rid of it. This spark of light flickers and
flashes with resilience only in death does it chance places.
Don’t be fooled by imitations of love this comes in
many shapes and sizes. Lust, puppy love, infatuation
to name a few. But true love stays with you forever.
Even when the going gets tough this love doesn’t desert you.
This deep inner love comes from the heart.
The heart of God surrounds you and embraces you
like a big wool scarf wrapped around your neck
from a cold winter night.
So embrace this spark and light the light of love
within yourself because life is to be cherished
not burdened. Life is to be appreciated not judged.
What a gift we have before our eyes waiting to be
acknowledged. The gift of love is the best gift
we can give ourselves because if we love ourselves
for all we are, we can love others for who they are.
