Alice found that she was different
After surviving Wonderland
She'd learned that you could lose it all
Even with a winning hand
One by one, she'd watched them fall
So many that she lost
She may have survived Wonderland
But she wonders at the cost
Was it really worth it?
Curiosity killed the cat
And, as Alice learned firsthand
Nothing brought him back
The Hatter slipped into his madness
Between his thirst for tea
And the poison in each hat he made
He was never breaking free
The caterpillar just dropped dead
Like he decided not to live
Cuz it doesn't matter who you are
If you've got nothing left to give
The Red Queen cut her own head off
When it got to be too much
There was nothing anyone could do
And Alice had to watch
Don't ask her about the Rabbit
She just knows he's alive
She also knows that doesn't mean
That both of them survived.
