I know what the law is, but what do you think? Do you think prior bad acts should be allowed into a trial so that the jury can decide with full knowledge of a defendant's history (i.e. that someone on trial for domestic battery has hit the victim on many other occasions and even been convicted of it), or do you think that it is unfair because the jury will blame the defendant for their past and not fairly look at the present?
**I only know how this works in the American Court System, but if you're from somewhere else I'd like your opinion too** |
