I lived through some things I should not have and here I stand today broken and not even half the man I used to be. It’s been years since my first Traumatic Brain Injury and still my memory is terrible suffer debilitating migraines, and the seizures where I just blank out. The worse seizures I have had I can hear everything going on around me but I can’t really move or talk the sounds that come out my mouth are just moans, those times are hell cause I am trapped in my mind everything is pure panic. Now my moods are always fucked up I don’t even like being around people anymore. I take all the anti-seizure meds and now on anti-depressants and other pills I just feel like a freak. A Little Ranting

Today I ventured back into the broken city not expecting much of a change from my previous visits. Debris piles still remained on the street corners. My house and furniture was still covered in mold. Most stores and restaurants were closed. I'm beginning to realize that it will be at least a year until everything is completely back to "normal." It all makes me reassess my future. Not that I had any idea of what I was planning on doing in the first place before this whole mess. My options are as follows: 1) Continue teaching at Garyville/ Mt. 1/2 cup margarine 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1 egg 1/2 tablespoon grated lemon rind 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sifted flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups rolled oats Combine margarine and sugars in mixing bowl. Add egg, lemon rind, molasses and vanilla. Mix well. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Add oats. Combine the two mixtures. Dough will be sticky. Lay out sheet of wax paper and dust with flour. With floured hands, shape dough into a roll about 5 inches by 2 1/2 inches on wax paper. Enclose dough in wax paper, then wrap with plastic wrap and chill or freeze well. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 375 degrees. Slice into thin pieces. The thinner you cut them the better, they should be no thicker than about 1/4 inch. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets, 1 to 2 inches apart. Bake in preheated oven 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool

Memories...
As everyone knows I have a horrible memory, so much so I do not remember most of my lifetime. However I ahve been doing alot of thinking lately and I realize that sometimes wether a memory is good or bad is irrelivant in that its still a reminder of the past. 1st Week
Wow a week of chemo which means 3 treatment. I do chemo 3 times a week till ... All depends. As some know this is another battle for me. Its my sixth time around fighting. I'm determine to overcome it again. Its going to be a hard fight but one I will win. Its been a rought week last week. Was Today Really Necessary?
Well, to start.... its kinda funny how life comes around and stabs you in the face while your struggling to pick yourself up out of the gutter. Peppered Pork Chops W/peach-vinegar Glaza
The pantry is brimming with new basics that add flavor to recipes. A recipe for granola popcorn balls with peanuts. INGREDIENTS: * 3 quarts popped popcorn * 1 quart granola cereal * 2 cups salted peanuts * 1 1/2 cups light molasses * 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar PREPARATION: Grease a large 5-quart bowl or kettle. Mix popcorn with the granola and peanuts. In a 2-quart saucepan, combine molasses and sugar. If you didn't know, I injured my knee last year and again this year and have been getting fat ever since. So... I have been looking at forms of exercise I can do, skiing, boarding, surfing, rugby are all kinda no nos. Anyway I turned up at an introduction to yoga session on Saturday. If you are a yoga fan, stop reading, if you've never tried it, keep reading. It started off with some hot girls lying next to me on a mat, pretty good start, then the instructor walked in. She was a short dumpy german lesbian with hairy legs and a moustache! The first task was to sing some strange chant together about the god of resistance (Ohm - physics fans), then listen to her chanting for about 5 minutes in a strange language only dogs can hear or something, I couldn't look anyone in the eye cos I would have burst into laughter. Arriving At Lestat's House
When I arrived at Lestat's old house it was night time and after entering it I started playing the tape recordings I had of my conversation with Louis. For those who dont know me and dustin got into a pretty bad fight. When I say bad I mean bad. I left for 4 days and stayed with my mom. A lot of changes are being made. Blend in flour. Add milk gradually and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add lemon juice and seasonings. Stir a little of the hot sauce into the egg; add to remaining sauce, stirring constantly. Add parsley and crab meat; blend well. Place in six well-greased individual shells or 5-ounce custard cups. Combine butter and crumbs; sprinkle over top of each shell. Bake in a moderate oven, 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until brown. Serves 6.

Shrimp Scampi
2 pounds. large raw shrimp 1/2 cup butter 1 Tablespoon salt 6 cloves garlic 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped) 3 Tablespoons lemon juice 1 Tablespoon paprika 6 lemon wedges Preheat oven to 400 degrees F Remove shells from shrimp, leaving shell on tail only. Devein and wash under running water; drain on paper towels. Meanwhile melt butter in baking dish in oven; add salt, garlic, one tablespoon parsley and mix well. Arrange shrimp in a single layer in the baking dish. Bake uncovered for five minutes; turn shrimp; sprinkle with lemon juice and paprika and add remaining parsley. Return to oven and bake an additional 8 to 10 minutes. Do not overcook. Arrange shrimp on heating serving platter and pour garlic butter from pan over shrimp. Garnish with lemon wedges.

Thank You To Our Troops
Let us take a minute to remember the brave men and women of the Armed Forces, who have served and those that are serving to keep us free. They are willing to give their all, and even to die if necessary to preserve this land of liberty. Men and women who must leave friends and family to proctect ordinary citizens like you and me. They give up the comfort of a nice warm bed and may not even have a roof over their head. They sit in strange places and eat their daily ration always on call to protect our nation. There may not be a whole lot that we can do But we certainly can take the time to say THANK YOU!

Ouch!!!

I've been racking my brain over a lot of things lately and finally have come to a conclusion on what I need to do. My mother has been pressing me for a while to take over the family business. In the past she's offered to buy me a house, acres of land and give me complete control. She has made this offer again lately and it made me think. I just got laid off, I'm single and lets face it my friends are getting older and starting to do their own things now. It was a harder choice back then. Back before people started to get married and have kids. I don't want to leave my peeps but such is life I suppose. I finally found what I thought didn't exist, I found the true love I thought I'd missed. After all these years of being second best, I found the one that belives I'm better than the rest. He's the light that showed me the way, He's the reason I wake up everyday. Before we met my hopes where gone, I thought everyday of death and prayed it wouldn't take long. Now I know I have a reason to survive, A reason to be happy I'm alive. My only fear now is that he'll leave and I'll be alone, Once again without the will to carry on. I pray everyday that this will last forever, I don't think he would leave me ever. I love him more than life itself, Without him I'd have very little inside left.
