Breast Cancer
May 2, 2008 (Day 27) I got good news (well as good as it gets good) Cindy called (Clinical Drug Trial Nurse) yesterday and my HER II test finally came back from the lab in California. It was negative...that's a good thing...well better then the test being positive. I am eligible for the drug trial program which means longer length of chemo (6 months verses 3 1/2, which means bald for 3 more months then I wanted to be...lol, yes for those of you that know me...I am vain especially when it comes to my hair!) BUT....I do get the "better drug" if you can call it that being in this program. I also get a better advantage with a group of people that will follow me basically 24/7 during the trial. Which is good and bad for me. I need tons and tons of support, BUT for those of you that know my personality sometimes I hate all the hovering, people constantly at me asking questions and thinking I need to cry or just let it all out type thing. You all know, that's just not me.

Ok...this just occurred to me. There is a potential gold mine here in Alaska but where it is located will affect fishing areas VITAL to region. (google Peeble Mine in Alaska) I mean literally vital to people's way of living. They depend on the foods you can harvest from the sea. The way gold is mined is very toxic. There isn't any way you can get gold from ore without using cyanide. I've seen it on Discovery Channel. Now...how do you weigh the needs of the few to needs of the many? Yea, they can move to better location but who's going to move them? Their ancestors lived there since before Alaska was US territory and before the Russian occupation. Why should they suffer because the current government cannot manage their own finances?

Ok so after being out of work since JanuAry I aM finally going bAck sometime this week. It is going to be weird as all hell. I Am going bAck to cooking. I actually have been living more in Philadelphia where I go to school than in Tucson for the last few years. But I was born and raised here, mostly on a cattle ranch. I am, however, no cowgirl. I can ride a horse but I don't relish the experience and the less I have to interface with cow poop, the better I like it. Anyway, I'm a music student and I mostly play the cor anglais (English horn) and flute. I can play most of the other double-reeds as well but not always very well. I am piano literate but no virtuoso and frankly I don't much enjoy playing it. When I grow up I want to be a great composer. Everyone should have a dream, right?

A Weekend Of Training
I spent 8 hours Saturday, and 8 hours Sunday, being trained how to locate a utility that I already know how to locate. I admit, I did need a refresher on how to read the prints. Well I had a job interview this afternoon today and I guess it went well. I've aplied for maintnence with Drury Inn. Grandpa Norris - I Love You
For a little over six years my grandpa Norris (dads side) has been battling lymphatic cancer - he's been through chemotherapy and other "revolutionary" drugs. Sometimes the drugs and chemo helped - putting him in remission but he's come out of remission plenty of times and just recently (last year) he was put on a oxygen tank. Yesterday he was admitted to the hospital because he couldn't breathe - a few hours later he was rushed into ICU with concerns of pneumonia (since his immune system is fucked up from all the treatments) The doctors have given him a 50/50 chance of surviving and if they find out that he has fibrosis instead of pneumonia they say it's only a matter of time - Agent Orange has been proven to be the cause of his cancer and he still suffers. I Am My Own Therapist
I feel like I am my own therapist sometimes. I talk to myself and tell myself how it is. Basically ppl just need someone to talk to, but probably not anyone unless ur desparate. Ppl need someone they think they can trust to talk to. Im not saying I dont have anyone i can trust to talk to, but often I dont feel like explaing things to my friends, cuz most of the time, it affects every little things, it aint simple. My Move To Florida
