THE OLD DRUNK A drunk stumbles along a baptismal service on Sunday afternoon down by the river. He proceeds to walk down into the water and stand next to the Preacher. My mom got in touch with her HS friend from Russia that moved to Canada. They were talking for a while, on the phone and over the emails. So we recently planned to drive to Canada (where we almost moved to Montreal instead of the US) to stay with her. Well .................... Ive been watching Ray like a hawk since Saturday. Dont want to 'hover' but damn he is the love of my life, so yeah, shoot me! Ok kids, I PROMISED I'd start really working on the weight loss this week and I've kept my word! I jogged about 1 1/2 miles today and walked approx 1 additional mile. It felt damn good to get out and move! :) I haven't done any jogging in years since my weight got so bad, so it felt great to be doing it again. I'm one of those people that once I get started with jogging, I want to jog all the time! Anyhow, I did want to let everyone know that I have been true to my word in my most recent blast that I'd start workin' my butt off! I have to get the last of the weight off and reach my goal weight! Recently I found an amazing livejournal blog where people from Russia that were born between 76 and 82 share their recollections of various trends, habits, styles, slang words, etc that were "in" in the 80s and 90s Russia. It brought back so many memories that I almost lost, including a couple of really disturbing ones: I remember when we just discovered that there was such thing as gum, we started doing something completely repulsive: chewing concrete tar. I remember being 7 years old with my friends, peeling off little bits of fresh concrete off the ground, and chewing them like gum.. Same was done with a window sealant, that was white, thus more resembling gum. We also tried to make Russian gum resemble American colored one, and colored strips of gum with markers or mixed it with shavings from colored pencils. When some lucky kid had gum, that gum was passed around between 6 or 7 kids, from mouth to mouth. (yuckk) I guess this explains a lot about me ;p

I am just sitting here as usual, trying to put things in perspection and all I am getting is confused. I have always been a very quiet and reserved person , to a point that is good . Good Morning. You ever hear those people who argue over who can grill this or that better then anyone. I mean they go on and on about how good this or that is and give no one any chance of even thinking they can bar-b-q better then themselves? Well I am not sure if this is how this next little spat started or not. However, both landed themselves not in the backyard with a grilling utensils but in jail with a jumpsuit. A man and woman found themselves in jail after beating one another with a barbecue grill. Part 3 of 3. The dawn of day three breaks under a heavy, low hanging cloud. The skies of life are heavy as he confronts the reality that this is their last day together. So my DVD player takes a shit the weekend I am stuck home. There are only so many computer games one can play in a day. But believe me, I don't want to do anything else. An Embarassing Encounter
The other day I had an encounter with an "ex" that proved to be most embarassing. Sift the flour and salt. Add Milk, mix to a batter with yeast and egg. Add currants, raisins, and peeled, minced apple. Leave batter in a warm place to rise to double its size. Heat the fat to 375 degrees F. Put two metal spoons into the batter. Shape balls with the two spoons and drop them into the fat. Fry them for 6 a 7 minutes until brown. The doughnuts should be soft and should not be grease-soaked inside. If they are fried to slowly the crust becomes hard and tough and the doughnuts become greasy. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve then piled on a dish and thickly with sifted confectioner's sugar. Eat while hot if possible. "Oliebollen" are a traditional treat on New Year's Eve in Holland

October 7, 2008 Friday night was fantastic! We had a great set as the Rob Carlton Band, though as expected we have some self criticism to do, and to revise our set before we play out again. It was all great, and the soundman at the Sherman, Glenn, was exceptional. Thank you. Joe Bouchard & co. were a really great band, and mixed their own material in with several songs that Joe used to perform with Blue Oyster Cult. Some of the early material was a wonderful surprise to me, as a long longtime BOC fan. I had the honor of jumping up onstage with Joe and the band for a kickass rendition of Back Door Man (Doors) and sharing the mic with his drummer, Jimmy (an awesome drummer) and we ended the show with an all out jam including both bands.
