I've officially decided that writing (and drawing) a PLATFORMER is hard work. especially when there is a vine that the player must be able to swing from. I've named it Jungle Jim (the pun was actually not intedned as I noticed it just a couple of days ago, I thought it just sounded right) and it is my attempt at a pitfall clone, having only played pitfall for about 5 minutes some years ago, it's much more like a bastard 5th cousin twice removed than a clone, but I'm not counting. It's written entirely in C# using the (new) XNA framework, which makes some things quite easy, and others quite tough. there are several issues with it that I haven't sorted out yet. for example if you jump fast enough, you will never die when touching a log or an open mawed gator. also the lives indicator disappears when you grab the vine. My Bday Kinda Sucked....
On my bday (the 12th) it was pretty boring. Me and my hunny went to breakfast after dropping the kids off at school. From Bad To Worse...
If people don't think things can ever get worse than what they normally are...then they are just trying to fool themselves. I was just starting to get back off of my depression of what would have been my son's second birthday when something personal kinda slammed me real hard. Now this! I had to take to go check on my sixty plus year old dad Monday. He was taken to the ER here because he could breath right and wasn't able to walk. Doctor told me that it was Congested Heart Failure and fluid on his legs. Easy to treat. They took him to Dothan AL to get some more work done and some more test. Now, I get a phone call from him while he is balling his eyes out. He informs me that they are cutting his legs off. Apparently, he developed problems with his feet and decided not to tell me. Now it has went past the point of no return. Now, who was the fucking idiot that said life was grand?!

Sea Survival
So we’re in the crash boat heading into the Strait of Georgia out of Comox on Vancouver Island. It’s July so the weather is good at least and the sea is reasonable with five foot swells but it’s still quite bumpy because we’re making at least twenty knots. In fact one or two of the lads are feeling decidedly unwell and looking a strange shade of green. It’s called a crash boat because it is designed to respond to aircraft that have to ditch or crash into the sea so it’s fast and has a water-cannon to put out fires, and it can hold a crew of four plus at least 20 survivors. But today it’s not responding to a crash. It’s transporting 15 of us out into the strait for some sea survival training. We’ve already spent most of the week in the classroom attending lectures and watching training videos (mostly from the Royal Navy) and so it’s a welcome break from the boredom of the classroom. well for yall that keep up with my racing heres what happened saturday. finished 6th in the heat race out of 8 cars. car wouldnt turn in the corners and had a hard time getting it to roll through without the front end wanting to go to the wall. even with this we were only about 3 mph off the leaders speed, so i think we are right there with the speed and motor. in the feature, we made the first lap and the car did exactly what i want it to do. it rolled through the corners with little braking and even less loss of speed. then on the back straight a way the transmission broke and we had to pull off. hard to say how fast we would have been but it is looking up that we will have the car set up for the rest of the year and we can be more competitive with the rest of the bombers and have the car ready to run well for a change

Hello! I just need a little help here. I need to figure out if it is just me stuff because of my past history with my abusive father or if there are just a lot of men that are assholes. 2 Day..
college life of a lost and lonley man...Its funny how I have always been a day late and a dollar short. I some how pulled out being an RA this semester. I barley got my app in on time and didnt get called as the first pic. However I got called the day tranning started to be an RA but couldnt make because im in the reserves and had drill. I'm partying several nights a week and drinking under age... running from cops at partys and talking my way past a securtiy guard who caught me carring beer...I have been a wingman more than once including sleeping with a girl that...well i didnt really want to sleep with so my buddies could steal the beer...lol college right... Progress...
Ok heres an update on how my grandmother is doing from my last blog (hell my only blog for that matter). My grandmother made it through surgery alright. They completed the triple bypass without any complications. When I left the hospital to come home for a lil bit she was showing good signs that she knows what is goin on around her (this is important cuz they are fearful she could have a stroke after having an operation like this). They said she seems to be breathing without the benefit of the respirator but she has to keep that in her until she can take deep breathes. Other then that its pretty much just a wait and see for the next day or so to see how she pulls through it all. We are hopeful to get her out of ICU by tomorrow but that all just depends on her really. The difficult part about her being in the ICU unit is the fact that the family only gets to go back there during certain designated times and only 2 ppl are allowed back at a time. Norman Mailer: A Remembrance From 11-11-07
Just yesterday, I found out the bad news. Norman Mailer, one of the greatest writers in American history, passed away from acute renal failure after having lung surgery in New York at Mt. Sinai Hospital. He was eighty-four years old. It was an end of an era, one of the last great writers alive now gone. Just this year, Kurt Vonnegut passed away in May, another great writer, now Norman Mailer is gone. Also like Vonnegut, I never really got a chance to read anything by Norman Mailer, although I have heard much about him. He was the writer of the book, The Naked and the Dead, which is on the list of the Twentieth Century’s Top One Hundred Books. He was married six times, which to me is way too much. Also, Mailer was born in Long Branch, New Jersey, on Jan. 31, 1923 in a Jewish family. His father was an accountant born in South Africa, and his mother owned a housekeeping and nursing agency. They were so wonderful to my brother and Val. The funeral costs would have been around $4800.00. They told my brother and Val, when they went to pay, that there is no charge. They never charge for children! That's proof that there are still some really good people in this world. They know it's hard enough to bury a child without having to worry about the costs. KUDOS to them!!!! :) It's just part of their policy but I felt they should receive some recognition for such a wonderful act of kindness, in such a greedy world! By the way, almost 300 people came to see him at the viewing Thursday night. Everyone was overwhelmed by the support! Well, I woke this morning to a couple of messages and hey it's cool we both have our opinion of what is acceptable and not, I though believe in taking care of others that sit there and befriend me. Dang life is confuzzing and difficult. I have worked my butt off trying to get my profile changed so I can deploy. I have a non-deployable medical profile, and most people would kill to get one. I am willing to kill to get it lifted. I finally got a letter stating I was deployable. I was happy. I was going to be leaving with my Soldiers this summer. Fubar Problems

Another weekend, another concert set... At least I didn't go alone...my brother needed a night out, so we hit the road together. Honestly, we went just to be doing something. Floyd's Music Store is basically a hole in the wall venue in a multiple college town. Lots of youth...lots of drinking, lots of partying in Tallahassee, Florida. Not that I would know or anything. You walk down a set of steep concrete steps to actually get down into the bar. Underground... There's a bar along the back wall which runs parallel to the stage. To get to the stage you actually have to venture down more steps into the pit area.
