It's Official
The second biopsy site was confirmed to be DCIS as well. I will definitely have to have a full mastectomy. The surgical oncologist is referring me to a plastic surgeon to do the reconstruction. Good news is so far it still looks to be noninvasive, so no chemo hopefully. It was expected, and I feel better having it confirmed... but I'm still mourning my boob :( It's a pretty boob, it doesn't deserve this :P

[cider Brine, The Sequel]
Alright, here's what I want out of this dish Spice, piggy, apple, crisp, sweet. Something BETTER than a jar of applesauce and chops. To those ends Good fat content chops or tenderloin thyme, pepper, coriander? salt a tbs apple cider vinegar 4 1/2 cups apple cider (pref spiced add some cinnamon and cloves if its not in the cards) Brine over night Retrieve and sear pork, add the brine back as a poaching liquid add 2 sliced red apples Retrieve chops and apples add about a cup of sugar to the liquid, boil and reduce, ladle bed and drizzle appropriately. And if that doesn't work, by god I'll use white wine. I know that poach/reduction. I think a cream sauce or dollop is in order as well. Along with some pomegranete. Sides? Wild+long grain rice. Duh. A small bed of baby spinach and greens. Red potatoes+olive oil is another favorite of mine. Or grits. Parmesan grits? YES! Jalapeno grits... maybe.

Swiss Steak Dinner
Ingredients: * 1/2 cup all-purpose flour * 2 teaspoons salt, divided * 1/2 teaspoon pepper * 2 pounds boneless beef round steak , cut into 1/2-inch pieces * 2 to 3 tablespoons vegetable oil * 6 medium onions, thinly sliced * 7 to 9 small red potatoes (about 1-1/4 pounds), halved * 1 bay leaf * 1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup, undiluted * 2 cups frozen cut green beans, thawed Directions: In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, 1-1/2 teaspoons salt and pepper. Add beef in batches and shake to coat. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown beef in oil on both sides. Transfer to a greased 3-qt. baking dish. Top with onions and potatoes. Sprinkle with remaining salt; gently toss to coat. Add the bay leaf. Spoon soup over top. Cover and bake at 350° for 1-1/2 hours. Place beans around edge of dish. Bake 15-20 minutes longer or until meat and vegetables are tender. Discard bay leaf. Yield: 6 servings

I am offically Aunt Cole! That said...the story of Hayden Maie's begining is...hmmm. Odd lol. My little sister Courtney found out she was pregnant a few months ago and she was almost 5 months along at that time. They gave her a due date of March 31st. Sunday night, after the Super Bowl, she was bleeding a little, by the time they got her to the hospital, her water had broke. Scary! Being that she wasn't at her due date. They took her by ambulance to another hospital that had a NICU. Horrible nurses, but the NICU is awesome. We were not very pleased with the care my sister got while on the maternity floor. Trip To The Doc
A few weeks ago my son went to the dr. for his 3 month checkup. I explained to him that he was twitching, usually 1st thing in the morning or before bed and also while he was sleeping. A few years back I expressed the same concern but the doc said it was his body's way of saying he was tired. I accepted that for the time being because it was always as soon as he woke up or at night when the body is tired most. Now that it's still going on they want to schedule an EEG in order to check the brain for seizures. Appointment day is here (today) and I am supposed to wake him up at 5:00 am and keep him awake for 9 hours prior to this appointment, without giving him sugar or caffiene during this time. Yeah ok! I am a normal everyday person. I didn't know anything about fubar until I found it by accident. I really enjoy the site. I was interested in being a dj cause I enjoy listening to music. Make A Difference
I have been struggling the past for months and felt as things were hopeless. Tonight I watched something which I believe was the answer to my prayers. I watched Idol Gives Back and I was touched to see so many people wanting to make a difference. What touched me even more were the stories that were told of how little people have and millions dying each year from hunger or illness, yet these people are happy and thankful for life and the little they do have. The story that stood out the most was about a 7 year old girl who Annie Lennox visited with. This little girl was born with Aids cause her mother didn't have the right medicine needed to protect the baby while she was pregnant. Not long after the baby was born the mother died. At 7 years old this little girl was nothing but skin and bones and weighed as much as a 1 year old baby. The doctors and nurses said there was little hope for her. Annie Lennox went back to visit the girl after a few months and found a miracle.

Life always has it's ups and downs. For almost 2 years I have been unemployed, looking for work. I drank through all my savings and was pretty close to being out on my ass. Finally, after 2 years of searching, interviewing, applying, not getting hired, I found a job! I've never been much of an early waker, however this job starts at 6am. It's been hard to get to work on time, but it's something you gotta do. I focus every morning on just getting my feet flat on the floor and taking that first step. I guess my point, without going too round about, is that all things in life begin with that first step. The first step may be more of a stumble, a jump, or even a step backwards. The thing everyone needs to remember though is that you can't get anywhere while sitting on your ass. As easy as it is to say, "just take that first step," I definitely understand it's a lot easier said than done. Remembering that you can always just take another step will get you far. How Do They Do It?

Interveiw Update
Ok so the interveiw went pretty good from what I understood... The only things I could see that I had against me were I've never worked in a newspaper before...
