My Birthday Is Tomorrow!

Well, I've got a lot on my mind at the moment, so I'm trying to make sense of it all. Still Lossing Weight!!
Oh yeah baby, I just weighed my self. I am now 188 lbs. Almost to my goal weight, woo hoo!! I am hoping to get to at least 180 lbs. by New Years and then by my birthday to my goal weight of 160 lbs. I hope I can do it. We had a good Thanksgiving. It was great to see my gf's family just take us in and treat us as one of the family. I wasnt sure how they would act to us. It was a big relief. Heat oven to 350°F. Combine cookie crumbs and butter; press onto bottom and 1 inch up side of 9-inch springform pan. 2. Melt 1 cup chocolates in small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Doctor's Appointments....
Okay, so normally I do not have both the kids at the same time for a doctor's checkup but this time I thought it would be best to get both of their appointments knocked out at the same time. I just watched the last installment of 'The Lost Room' on the SciFI channel and I have to say that I've really, really enjoyed it over these last three nights. I have a small clock which I keep next to me and through the day, I look at it to keep track of the time. Recently, a family member has come to visit and she asked to borrow it. I didn't think anything of it; after all, I have my 'inner clock' don't I? Well....the first couple of days, I was disoriented and I didn't know what time it was....at all. I got a call from Citidel Security today, they asked me to come back to work for them to train the new group of gaurds they're putting in the FedEx Buford site that i worked a long while back. Hey, everyone else is doing it, so I oughta do this a little too. I'll obviously be covering news from my garden but also-- my Greyhounds, my family, and living in Kahleefourniya (California for those of you not initiated into the Schwartzenegger way of speaking) The good news about the recent cold snap is that my citrus appears to have survived!!! That's quite an achievement, as somewhere between 70-85 percent of the statewide trees are toast. I am also relieved because three of my trees are ex-grove trees which have a long and storied history. They are amazingly productive even in their old age. The bad news is that my banaba, guava, and peppers are pretty much goners. Oh well. Gaura's Garden Tip: Don't dig up broccoli when you've harvested the main head. Leave them go, give them a little extra compost or organic fertilizer, and harvest the side shoots that will come. Believe me when I say that you will harvest at least double and sometimes triple your harvest. Give it a try.

My Granddaughter.
Just recently I uploaded a photo of me holding my granddaughter on the day she was born. I was in the delivery room when she was delivered and then went with her to the recovery room where they did her physical. 9 pounds 12 ounces, 21 and a quarter inches, sporting a 15 inch around head and 16 inch around body. Thank God she was breech and was taken by C section. My poor daughter would of had a really bad time passing that load naturally. I remember Kyla was not ready to face the world as she had her legs spread as the female doctor was trying to pull her out by the hips. It took two male doctors to help her deliver Kyla. My first thought as I witnessed this was " Another redneck in the family". While my daughter was coming off of the drugs (really great stuff that morphine),I was taking care of this little angel. Messed Up Trying To Fix
Well...I was hanging out with a friend of mine and it was going good at first. Then all of a sudden it turned sour. The one thing I want to do is talk to that friend but he wont talk to me. So how am I suppose to try to work things out or fix something if the friend won't talk to me. I understand why he got a little upset with me but I told him about the thing before we left. Hannibal Rising
Just a lil something I wrote about in my blog on myspace.. about my not so healthy obsession with Dr. Lecter. Hope you don't think I'm crazy after reading it LOL... :) Dayna I have been obsessed with Hannibal Lecter since I was 11 years old, when Silence of the Lambs was released (1991). I know that's probably one of the strangest things you've ever heard, yet still it's the truth. My mother was totally against me watching the movie at such a young age but I demanded she let me, that I could handle it. Instead of feeling frightened by Lecter (more by Buffalo Bill than anyone else and Dr. Chilton's horrendous taste in wardrobe and cheap pick ups) I found myself drawn to Lecter. Even at 11 years old, understanding that this fictitious character must have had something horrible happen to him to turn him into the "monster" he became. So Called Friends
This week has been the absolute worst of my life. I almost lost my 21 year old daughter to a nervous breakdown and a suicide attempt. It's been a week of hell, despair, shock, fear and loneliness. A million questions run through my mind as I sit here alone tonight. However, there is one in particular that I really need answered. When our lives are going great, or when we are happy, laughing, or having good fortune we have all sorts of friends hanging around wanting to share in the positive. They hang around without being asked or invited. They are just there. So why is it during the most difficult times of our lives, when we hurt so damn bad that we feel as if we will die, that these same friends cannot be found. Even when asking or begging for their support they make up some lame excuse and turn away. This week I found out who my true friends really are and sadly enough I have discovered that I don't have too many who will actually stand by me through thick and thin.

Self-esteem
I have a blog about high school roles and the meaning of the word "popularity" percolating in my head, but it hasn't coalesced into a coherent blog yet. But hey, figured I was past due for a blog of some sort. So last night, I turned off my Tivo, and Oprah was on live TV (it was very late), and they were doing a show on people who wanted to lose weight. Which is fine. Of course I don't have a problem with people wanting to live healthier lifestyles. What I found disquieting is how down on themselves these people were because of their weight. It was like they had no self-esteem whatsoever just because they were overweight. And, honestly, these weren't grossly obese people. These were heavy but healthy looking people. But it was as if their entire self-identities were completely shattered by the fact that they were overweight by modern standards. (I was also amused by an interview with one woman's husband, who said "I feel guilty about it, but I wish she looked like she d

There was black toner everywhere, including on the carpet. I remembered that on Wednesday the machine had said he toner was low but since it was still working I didn’t change it. For those of you who don’t know I’m the one that is usually called on to change the toner, the drum, fix paper jams, fix computers and so on. No problem usually. It takes me all of maybe 2 minutes to change the toner in our copier. Take the new toner out, shake it, pull the old one out and put it in the box, put the new toner in and the pull the plastic tab as it goes in so that toner doesn’t spill. That’s it. Bindi Is Sick
I know some of you have been watching my baby Bindi Marie grow up on here. She is 14 weeks now and weighs 34 pounds. Thats 4 pounds last week alone. But today she is sick. Penny For A Thought
Well, it's been a while since I actually sat down and just wrote. I've been going through alot of hard things in the last 6 months a smany of you may know. However, I feel it i snow time to express certain feelings that I have had bottled up for some time. I write these blogs fo r my own benefit/therapy as well as with the hopes that they may inspire the reader. We seem to become so trapped in our own little worlds and problems tha twe overlook the fact that many are going through similar ordeals. The path we traverse in this life is traveled by many. We are all here together trying desperately to forge ahead and carve an existance for ourselves. This being said, I must address the first issue I'd like to discuss. A misunderstanding of sorts. It would seem that many here think tht I am unapproachable. This is so far from the truth. No one is any better than anyone else. I will chat/talk to anyone. How Do You Know When The Time Is Right???
As most of you already know, our wedding date was set for 4-7-07. I say WAS because we have post-poned it. There's nothing wrong with our relationship or anything like that. We are doing fine. It just came up on us so much quicker than we expected and we aren't even close to being ready. Plus, we've decided to save up some more money, since we aren't receiving any financial help from family. I guess it just seemed too soon as the date became nearer. Is it just us, or do other people experience the same thing? I know weddings are typically supposed to be this huge occassion where everyone gets dressed up, goes to some boring ceremony, then some formal "party" afterward. We dont want all that. Maybe that's why it seems so uneventful. We are both very casual peple and we just want to have a fun wedding, share a few vows and hang out with the people we care about. But, why doesn't this feel like 'enough' for me? I suppose I always had the same chidhood dream of a fairy tale wedding. The

Random Thoughts.
Today has not really been a good day. Weekend was good but today has seen me thinking over a few things. Why oh why can some say im sweet, caring, heart of gold, trustworthy, honest, lovable when no one seems to want or need me. Just feel like cutting off ties to everyone, going somewhere remote and just living there for a couple of days and dieing. For the most part i have no one else, hence why im online. Even that doesn't seem to be helping the loneliness, which is almost constant right now.

Departure 2004
A long time ago, in a land not very far from here, our hero sat pensively, trying to decide what to do. Funds expended due to waiting for Petey boy to get off the death bed (having a portion of his intestines removed)left ol' Cotton in quite the predicament. But Petey boy did get better, so with a fond farewell to friends our hero mounted his steed and set off for Virginia. It was a warm day, the South Florida sun shining down on our hero as he drove off towards the strange land. Most of the trip was uneventful. A major accident with multiple fatalities did cause the course to alter, but our hero was not to be dissuaded. Once fate sets the path of destiny before someone, there is little that can alter it. There are many strange things one sees when on such a journey. Take for instance that if you get gas at one gas station, and drive 10 minutes north the gas is almost always cheaper.
