A Pleasant Reminder
What a strange and wonderful world, this fubar place. I am grateful--beholden to--sugartastic for leading me here. I, like many of you, spend a fair amount of time wandering around the online wilderness. A largely pleasant experience, filled with surprises and good times and friends, old and new. Despite the interaction and community, though, it is a solitary undertaking. Me, alone, at home, computer on my lap (no small feat--it's a desktop), a cat on each hip, keyboard a-clicking, engaged. This past week, though, I stepped out of the web and into face-to-face land. Went out with friends a couple of nights, to a friend's party another night, and to my own party --first one I've hosted in some time--on yet another night. It was a very pleasant, very happy, and way too fun reminder that life is best lived in the presence--the actual, physical presence--of others.

Custom Gauges
Step 1: Open your dash and expose the gauges. Step 2: Once you've completed this step, scan them at a minimum of 300dpi in a Photoshop compatible program. Step 3: You will need to separate the image and have the background (figure 1) on one layer and the numbers and "dummy lights" on the other (figure 2). You can customize the second layer to your specifications, eg.font, size, angles, outlines....etc. Both layers need to be transparent. FIGURE 1 FIGURE 2 Step 4: The background layer can be replaced with whatever image fancies you. I've choosen a sunset. Create a new layer and paste the desired image. Select "transform" to stretch the image to full size. Ctrl + left-click on the background layer to automatically "lasso" the outline of the gauges. (Figure 3, layer 18). I'm Baaackkkkk
Well, everything seems to have gone very routinely. They removed one lymph node to biopsy; I will have pathology results by next Thursday. I'm already missing my morphine button I have percocet, but i'm not allowed to take it for another 1/2 hour... in quite a bit of pain at this point. It's quite shocking to look down and see just how lopsided I am. There is a tissue expander in place with a small amount of saline in it; it's probably about a b cup at this point. I'm also really tired because I seem to be having an allergy to one of the meds I'm on... so I'm taking benadryl on top of narcotics. Yay for sleepy sleepy time. That's all I can think of to say at the moment... Please, all you women, take the time to do breast self-exams monthly and get your mammograms!

Launch Team Prepares Plan To Evaluate Leak
Wed, 11 Mar 2009 05:08:16 PM PDT Shuttle Launch Director Mike Leinbach said Wednesday that workers will take their first up-close look Thursday afternoon at the gaseous hydrogen vent line that began leaking during the countdown to Wednesday night’s launch attempt. The leak prompted a postponement of the STS-119 launch to the International Space Station. The inspection could set a course for repair options that would allow another launch attempt as soon as Sunday. Leinbach said the leak developed on the piping that runs from the fixed service structure, or launch tower, to a valve at the intertank section of the shuttle’s external tank. The pipe moves hydrogen gas away from the shuttle and to a flare stack near the launch pad that burns it away safely. He said there was never any danger to the shuttle while it was being fueled, but that the leak allowed too much gaseous hydrogen to escape the vent line.

So. Another blog to try and express the chaotic thoughts rocketing through some grey matter I call a cerebra cortex. It is only a big bunch of nerves and chemicals. Hell, that is all that I am -- a large collection of atoms, chemicals, and electrical impulses. None of those things ever feel pain. Why the hell then do I hurt? Where can it come from? Pocket Tazer Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife. A guy who purchased his lovely wife a pocket Tazer for their anniversary submitted this: Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse- sized tazer. I have recently written separate commentaries on two jailed journalists. One, Roxana Saberi, has received a great deal of attention from the mainstream media and her case has been widely reported on and disseminated across the globe. The other case is that of Sam Dodson. I don't know if its just me or not, but the prednisones that the dr put me on yesterday for my hand and stuff are making me feel totally blech. They put me on a big dosage, or so I think, I have never taken so many pills in one day :( Yesterday and today I have had a total of 16 10mg pills and YUCK! I can't tell if they are helping too much or not cuz when I take off the thumb/wrist splint to type or do something I get the pains again, guess I can't expect overnight miracles. With the muscle relaxers he gave me with these, I can be taking one up to 3 x's a day, but I am not sure I want to be taking them with the way the others are making me feel. Witness Of A Death
Tonight my husband, kids and I had plans to go to the fair and watch the demolition derby. A Little Down Time......
Alright. So I had a little down time today, which was nice. I decided to use it to do a couple things to the bike, get a better look at things, and I'm glad I took a better look.
